Contributing to our transport infrastructure

The UK rail network has undergone a radical transformation over recent years to become one of the safest, most reliable and intensively used rail systems anywhere in the world. Today, nearly 20% of all European passenger journeys take place in the UK, and the network is the fastest growing in Europe.

CE Turner supports several major rail and rolling stock programmes in the UK, including Crossrail, the London-based railway construction project.

Our achievements to date include the supply of components and assemblies for the ‘Aventra’ train for Crossrail, London Overground and East Anglia, as well as bracketry for cameras and passenger information systems for Crossrail stations.

We provide machined parts, fabrications and assemblies for new build rolling stock, trackside applications, the upgrade and refurbishment of existing rolling stock and for infrastructure projects.

Other customers in the rail industry include Dellner, a leading supplier of train connection systems with over 80 years of experience. Our engineers work alongside Dellner employees, with all parties contributing towards high quality solutions for the rail sector.

Our accreditations specific to this sector include:

• EN 15085-2 with ability to weld under classification level CL1 – a weld approval for the rail industry, allowing us to support the sector in several key areas while demonstrating our commitment to quality control and continuous improvement
• Member of the Rail Forum
